Danny White:

DANNY WHITE

"I am grateful to the Cowboys for the opportunity they gave me to play football. But more than that, for the opportunity to have an effect on people's lives. Because that's the thing I'm going to remember most!"

And after thirteen years with the Dallas Cowboys, Danny White retired.

Danny White broke the Cowboys' single-season touchdown passing record in his first year as Cowboys' starter in 1980. He took Dallas to the playoffs five years and led the team to three NFC East titles. The most accurate passer in club history, Danny holds the Cowboys' career marks for completions and touchdown passes. In 1982, White broke or tied eight club passing records and took the Cowboys to the NFC title game for the third year in a row.

Danny White was All-Pro and in the Pro Bowl in 1982. He had a 67-35 record as starter, including 41-11 at Texas Stadium.

Although Danny White has retired from football, life is just beginning for him. He has many varied business interests including: President of White Companies, with a Real Estate license and investment experience in Real Estate and Oil and Gas. He is Partner in White Insurance Enterprises, Inc. as well as Chairman of QB, Inc., a newly formed fraternity of active and inactive NFL Quarterbacks. QB, Inc.'s Credo is: To allow the combined reputation and influence of its membership to have a positive impact on people and situations that affect attitudes of youth, organized sports and social conditions the membership feels compelled to influence.

He was named 1982 "Dallas Father of the Year" and the 1983 "Cowboys Player of the Year".

A native of Mesa, Arizona, Danny White graduated from Westwood High School and attended Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. White finished his college career as the NCAA's all-time leading passer, setting seven NCAA passing records. White's passing and running placed him second in the nation in total offense in 1973. Danny White played the infield for 'ASU's baseball team and was drafted by four major league teams. Both Danny and his father, Wilford "Whizzer" White, a former ASU All-America halfback who played for the Chicago Bears in 1951 and '52, are in the Arizona State Sports Hall of Fame.
