JIM FURYK
Since turning pro in 1992, Jim Furyk has risen to become one of the world's elite golfers and most consistent champions. Currently Jim is the fifth ranked player in the world and second on the 2006 money list. Already a major championship winner (U.S. Open), Jim Furyk continues to improve his game through determination and practice.
A provocative and thoughtful speaker, Jim Furyk is a popular figure at corporate and non-profit events around the world. Jim Furyk spent his early years in the Pittsburgh suburbs learning the game from his father. A standout basketball player in addition to being a state champion golfer, he attended the University of Arizona and turned professional in 1992.
Jim Furyk won at least one tournament each year on the PGA TOUR between 1998 and 2003. At the time, this was the second best streak of winning seasons behind Tiger Woods and catapulted Jim to the top ten in the Official World Golf Rankings. Furyk's biggest win to date came on June 16, 2003, when Jim Furyk tied the record for the lowest 72-hole score in US Open history to win his first major championship.
Having already won eleven times on the PGA Tour (most recently the Wachovia Championship in April, 2006), Jim Furyk represented the United States in four Ryder Cups and competed in four Presidents Cups, Jim's career is nothing short of remarkable. He has finished in the Top Five on the Tour money list four times in his 12-year career and seems destined to compete at the highest level for years to come.
