Growing up in the inner cities of Chicago, Walter Bond is the youngest child of a high school principal and kindergarten teacher. Walter always dreamed of playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA). After years of hard work, good grades and a positive attitude, Walter Bond took the first step in realizing his dreams when he received a full athletic scholarship to the University of Minnesota.
Not everyone is born extremely gifted and talented like Michael Jordan, but Walter Bond’s life shows that if you believe it you can do it. A devastating injury ended Walter’s college career his senior year. Despite this setback, hard work, dedication, and a relentless attitude landed Walter with the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA 2 years later. Walter Bond became the first ever rookie free agent to start for the Dallas Mavericks opening night.
Later, Walter Bond would use this same formula for success in his business life as an entrepreneur.
